I want to replace my pump with a very quiet option. I do not want jets at all. Does that mean I can just use a circ pump? How fast will it heat if I do that?
I have a 4' tub, that is 3' deep

A cric pump is what you need. It will heat the tub the same as a regular pump as the water will rise more in temperature from the smaller flow. We have very energy efficient circ pumps including Laingcirc pumps at http://www.cedartubsdirect.com/hot-tub-pumps-c-4.html.

That depends on the size of the heater your using. A BTU is the amount of energy it takes to heat one cubic foot of water 1 degree F. The pump has nothing to do with it.
