Because you said it is a Pentair "pool" pump, your best bet is to contact Pentair Pool  technical support ph 800-831-7133.  We ourselves deal only with hot tub pumps which are different in design.  Pentair sold the hot tub pump manufacturing to Balboa Water Group but retained the pool pump manufacturing.
